Student Visas
The Student Visa Subclass 500 is a type of visa that allows international students to study full-time in Australia for a period of 5 years or less, not exceeding the duration of their enrolled course. This visa is available to students enrolled in a course that is listed on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). During the time of their study, the visa holder is allowed to travel in and out of Australia and work part-time for up to 40 hours per two-week period, provided that their course has started.
To apply for this visa, the student must meet certain health, character, and financial requirements, and follow the rules and regulations set by CRICOS. Family members of the visa holder are also eligible to accompany them to Australia. Tourist Visas
The Tourist stream of the Visitor Visa (Subclass 600) is intended for individuals who wish to travel to Australia as tourists, to visit family or friends or for a holiday. This visa can be applied for from within Australia and if granted, allows for a stay of up to 12 months.
Alternatively, if you are outside of Australia, you can apply for a visa grant of 3, 6, or 12 months. The visa fee for this stream differs depending on whether you are applying from inside or outside of Australia.
